Camp Hope Putting Down Roots in the Carolinas
The PTSD Foundation of America had initial meetings in Charlotte, NC and Charleston, SC last week on Feb 6 – 7 respectively. The advance committees in each location did an outstanding job of organizing and publicizing both events and there were a total of over 130 people in attendance. After an explanation by the Houston Headquarters’ contingent of what we do, why and how we do it, the attendees were all quick to form groups that were responsible for possible meeting locations, probable mentors, publicity and fundraising. This yielded immediate results in the form of two meeting sites already reserved, seven veterans suffering from PTSD who want to participate in the mentored meetings, two veterans suffering from PTSD who want to attend Camp Hope in Houston for further treatment and two organizations who have already written donation checks. All of this after only two days!
The people of both Charlotte and Charleston not only care about helping their country’s military warriors, they are personally willing to do something about it. If you live in or around either of these cities and would like to know more, please contact the committee members listed below for your city.
