100 Cars for Good program applauds and rewards Camp Hope
Fred Haas Toyota Country recently presented a 2012 Toyota Sienna to the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Foundation of America, as part of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good program, a major philanthropic initiative in which the automaker is giving away 100 cars to 100 non-profits over the course of 100 days, based on votes from the public.
100 Cars for Good is the first Toyota initiative that engages the public to determine how corporate philanthropic donations will be awarded.
During the voting phase, which began May 14, 2012, the 100 Cars for Good program profiles five finalists at www.100carsforgood.com . Individual members of the public are able to vote for which nonprofit they believe can do the most good with a new vehicle. The nonprofit with the most votes at the end of each day wins one of six Toyota models. Runners-up will each receive a $1,000 cash grant from Toyota.
“The Fred Haas Toyota organization has been proud to be a part of the Houston community since 1970,” said Bob Gaige, general manager of Fred Haas Toyota Country and Fred Haas Toyota World. “Throughout that time, we’ve supported the community in many ways, and we are delighted to be a part of the 100 Cars for Good program, and applaud the incredible work that the PTSD Foundation of America provides to our community.”
PTSD Foundation of America is a non-profit organization dedicated to mentoring combat veterans and their families with post-traumatic stress. Many warriors are coming home with visible wounds and countless others are coming home with scars we cannot see – wounded souls from witnessing the horrors of war over and over again. PTSD Foundation of America feels it is our duty as Americans to help these mighty warriors and their families adjust and find their new normal.
“At Toyota, we appreciate what a significant impact a new car can have for nonprofits in their work,” noted Michael Rouse, vice president of diversity, philanthropy and community affairs for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. “All 100 of the winners of the 100 Cars for Good program are providing extraordinary and much-needed services, and we thank Fred Haas Toyota Country for their role in delivering PTSD Foundation of America a Toyota Sienna to help them with their important work.”
A six-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty will also be provided for each vehicle, compliments of Toyota Financial Services. To learn more about the 100 Cars for Good program, visit www.100carsforgood.com .
