I am writing to let you know how much I appreciate your organization. I first became aware of your work through my Pastor, David Maulsby. I not only prayed for everyone involved but also kept up with all the events and activities reaching out to our Veterans in and around the Houston area. Coming from a family of veterans and being a United States Air Force Veteran myself, I so appreciated the many hours of ministry and resources invested into each veteran in crises as well as their families.

The true scope of what you all do for vets did not come to me until my son began your program 5 months ago. My son started having some problems with drug abuse, issues arising from his military service and childhood trauma. Over a period of a year it got steadily worse. His father and I told him about your organization and asked him
repeatedly to come to Houston to get help. And during a several month period David Maulsby reached out to him, long distance, on several occasions to encourage him to come. It was not until after he had a very dangerous meltdown that he even considered coming here.

Once my son made the decision to come to Houston your organization wasted no time in getting him here, getting him into a support group with others on their journey to recovery and connected him with a wonderful counselor. My husband and I began going to the Family Support group at the same time so that we could learn more about PTSD and the effects on those around us. I have learned so much about what he is struggling with and even realized that I have experienced secondary PTSD to some extent growing up with Veterans from WWII and Vietnam.

I do not know where we would be right now without a group of folks who not only have a heart for God but for our hurting soldiers and their families. The people we have met through the support group and the folks ministering to us are truly a God-send. Thank you so very much for your vision and I pray that God continues to bless the work you are doing.

Will you join Michelle and help these brave men and women? Together with your generous support, we can provide hope and a home for those who have sacrificed so much while wearing the uniform of our great nation. Help us help them. Donate today!
