Updated: Tue, Jul 28 2015, 10:39 PM By: Robert Price A Houston-based group that helps veterans with PTSD is bringing its unique approach to rehab here to San Antonio. They’re called the PTSD Foundation of America, and they’re hosting their kick-off meeting for the San Antonio chapter Wedensday morning. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, up to 20 percent of veterans returning home from battle suffer symptoms related to PTSD. Organizers of the PTSD Foundation say their meetings are based on “peer-to-peer” support. “They provide that veteran who’s suffering the exact same way,” says managing director Tom Clutts. “Helping you go through the exact same process. Going, ‘This is what helped for me, how can I help you go through the same process?'” The PTSD Foundation is holding its kickoff meeting Wednesday from 11 to 1 at the San Antonio Apartment Association on Babcock Road.
