The Lotus flower is planted in mud and yet still grows upwards toward the light to break through the other side clean and beautiful.
Our female veterans are growing stronger physically through combat, yet are stuck in the mud of sexual trauma, separation anxiety from their children, PTSD, and Homelessness.
The mission of The Lotus Project is to empower female veterans to rebuild their lives after military service.
Need to know where the available beds are for homeless female veterans with or without children.

Dog Tags ® is a Puppies Behind Bars® initiative, launched
in 2006, which honors and assists wounded OIF/OEF veterans.
By pairing you with a specially trained Labrador or golden retriever
service dog, we can help you cope with the challenges of everyday life.
Our dogs, raised in prison, are trained to perform over 80 service
dog commands. Since we specialize in dogs for veterans with PTSD
and TBI, we also teach our dogs special commands for wounded
warriors with these conditions.
All our dogs can open and close doors, turn lights on and off, dial 911
on a phone, carry shopping bags, do laundry, and bring items to you.
In addition, we teach them how to find your car in a crowded parking
lot; how to look both ways before you enter a room; how to “watch
my back”; and how to stop people approaching, if their approach is
making you nervous.

Texas veterans can use all three Texas veterans loan programs at one time. Multiple eligibility simply means you can receive a land loan and a housing loan and a home improvement loan. When requesting application materials, please be sure to specify the program(s) in which you are interested. Interest rates can change, as they are determined by the rate the Texas Veterans Land Board pays on applicable bond proceeds. These Texas veterans loan programs are not associated with the federal VA; therefore, even if you have used your VA benefits, you may still be eligible for these state loan programs. |

My Duty is to assist all active duty, veterans and veterans families in receiving the maximum VA benefits when they purchase or refinance a home. |

We are a group of dedicated Texans who have formed a recognized 501(c)(3) Texas tax-exempt/non-profit public charity, (Federal EIN 56-2656711), Operation Military Embrace, Inc., (OME) to assist our injured military, their families, and those military personnel accused of battlefield crimes in their time of need. OME is attempting to fill “gaps” in need that have not been addressed by the many other fine 501(c)(3) organizations that have come to the forefront to support our military during this time of global war against Islamic Terrorists dedicated to the destruction of Western Civilization...

Bridges to Healing
Military Ministry Bridges to Healing is a strategy for churches that want to minister to the military in their midst and are looking for specific training and tools to do so. Bridges to Healing seminars and resources help churches provide appropriate and relevant outreach to military people and their families. They are designed to fit within many existing ministries such as those providing pastoral care, small group discipleship and fellowship, Christian counseling, and other caring/healing services.
Becoming a Bridges to Healing church involves taking a series of practical steps to become effective at ministering to military members and their families in ways that are relevant to their special needs, especially if they are experiencing the effects of combat trauma or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

To help in meeting these needs requires an intentional, concerted effort by developing a "Corps of Compassion" (comprised of churches and other caring organization, armed with expanded resources and training), which reaches out to meet the needs at a personal relationship level. This kind of support goes well beyond bumper stickers and an occasional prayer to truly knowing and supporting individuals, to understand and help meet their individual needs...

PTSD Combat
Winning The War Within
Tracking stateside post-deployment incidents such as domestic violence, police standoffs, and all the rest including suicide, has been something that I have been a vocal proponent of. My work on the PTSD Timeline, in fact, officially kicks off again today, and in the coming weeks you'll see (far too many) new additions...

Army Achievement Medal |
 |
|
Criteria: Awarded for outstanding achievement or meritorious service not of a nature that would otherwise warrant awarding the Commendation Medal. Since the Army Achievement Medal is designated as an award solely for junior personnel, it is generally only awarded to officers in the pay grade of O-4 and below and enlisted personnel below the grade of E-7.
Award authority rests with local commanders, granting a broad discretion of when and for what action the Achievement Medal may be awarded. The Army Achievement Medal may be awarded in a combat area, but for non-combat meritorious service. The Achievement Medal is the lower of the United States military’s meritorious service medals.
The Achievement Medal was first proposed as a means to recognize the contributions of junior officers and enlisted personnel who were not eligible to receive the higher Commendation Medal or the Meritorious Service Medal. Additional awards are denoted by oak leaf clusters. |
